We are looking for committed and dependable Hospitality Ministers to be ushers and greeters at our Masses, and to help staff our [email protected] Connection Centers. If you have a gift for making people feel welcome and are willing to help one Sunday a month, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form. Training & formation is provided.
Are you usually aware of newcomers and seek them out to make them feel welcome?
Do you have a strong sense of God when welcoming someone into your home or community?
Do you notice and feel frustrated when strangers are ignored and not made to feel part of the community?
Do you have a charism of hospitality?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then God may be calling you to help be a part of our hospitality team. Come help us set the stage for encounter with Jesus as we build a culture of hospitality together!
People experience the presence of Jesus Christ in the world through the ministry of the church. The first task of the parish community is to reach out to all people in Christian love and service. Christian hospitality draws people together, opens them to participation, and sets the tone for the liturgy.
At Most Blessed Sacrament, hospitality surrounds our entire worship experience. Greeters and ushers do more than just provide the worship aids and take up the offertory collection.
The Primary Roles of the Hospitality Minister are...
TO WELCOME – Make sure everyone who enters our church knows you are glad they stopped by and that you are there to help in any way you can.
TO POINT - Point people in the right direction. That could mean helping them find a seat, directing them to a specific buildilng location, providing them a worship aid, or pointing them to a Connection Center resource that can help them meet a specific physical or spiritual need.
TO ENHANCE ENVIRONMENT - Hospitality minsters are aware of the spiritual and physical environment of our worship spaces. Things like closing doors to keep out noise, moving chairs to assist with traffic flow, and providing parents with a smile and support for a crying child are all elements of our worship environment that a hospitality minister can impact.
Above all, hospitality ministers are the hands, feet, faces, and hearts of Jesus to everyone who walks thorugh our doors.
