Our Lenten Almsgiving Challenge (2023)

Almsgiving - one of the 3 pillars of Lent - shows God gratitude for all He has given us. When we give, we learn to be generous and more dependent on God to meet our needs. Almsgiving helps us live out Jesus’ call to care for the needs of others.
Wow, what a Lent! Let's take a moment to celebrate that in just three Sundays, this parish has raised $14,394 to support the poor in Oshkosh and our Outreach ministry. God is so marvelously great, and so are you, His people!Did you know...?
- Last year we were unable to provide bedding for twenty children when asked for help due to a lack of resources.
- Our staff regularly meet with men and women in crisis, including crisis pregnancies where abortion is being considered.
- Parishioners often come to the parish looking for assistance with basic human needs like rent, utilities, food, and clothing for themselves and their children.
This year, our parish’s Outreach ministry wants to raise $10,000.00 through Lent to meet the needs of Oshkosh’s poorest, with a special focus on pro-life causes. At the Annual Town Hall Meeting, we will share all the wonderful things that the parish has accomplished through your generosity.We will have second collections at Masses throughout Lent, or you can donate online, or bring donations to the parish office at 435 High Ave.
Why second collections?
Because in the earliest days of the Church, Christians brought gifts to mass which were specifically used to help the poor in their communities. We want to hearken back to this ancient practice as we give alms this season."
