Secretary Trustee Election: Nov 18 &amp; 19

A parish trustee is an active, responsible parish member who is called to serve the parish as advisor, overseer, and counselor. In the civil corporate entity of the parish, a trustee is a member of the corporate board and serves as a trustworthy advisor to the pastor/parish director, who is also concerned for the well-being and on-going development of a vibrant faith community. Trustees are informed, involved and concerned about the parish and its members.

The secretary trustee’s particular area of responsibility is that of assisting the pastor/parish director to oversee corporate, non-financial record-keeping at the parish, such as corporate minutes from the Annual Meeting as well as other documents, notices and correspondence. Secretary Trustee helps in the development of parish policies and strategies to address the needs and mission of the parish. The secretary trustee is a member of the parish pastoral council and receives minutes of the finance council.

As pastor, Father Jerry has nominated the following two candidates for the position of Secretary Trustee of our parish.

Kristin Bird

Member of the parish for 15 years
Serves as a lector at the 8:30AM Mass, volunteer Commincations coordinator, and on various hiring and interview teams for the parish.

Along with my husband Tony and our three teenage children, I have been a member of the parish since MBS was founded and I was hired to serve as Youth Minister. When the Holy Spirit called me out of youth ministry, our family found other ways to serve our parish family and help us live out our mission.

My openness ot the Holy Spirit, 15 year experience as a member of parish staff, and the work I do now as speaker and consultant for Catholic parishes around the country have given me a strong sense of the mission of the Church to make disciples of Jesus Christ as well as insights into the best practices for living out that mission. I am excited to assist the Parish Council Executive Committee on launching the upcoming strategic planning process for our parish that will even more clearly focus our efforts and resources.

When I get out from behind my computer screen, you can usually find me quoting movies with my husband, laughing at bad puns with my children, or with my nose in a book.

Dave Lelinksi

Member of MBS (& St. Mary) parish since 1991
Serves as a lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at the 10:30AM Mass
Has served as Treasurer Trustee, Finance Council Member, Finance Council Chair, Parish Council Member, and Parish Council Chair

I have held positions on the Parish Council for multiple terms as well as being the Chair for two years. I held the position of your Trustee/Treasurer in the past vacating the position when my mandatory time period ended. I am a past member of the Finance Council for multiple terms along with filling the
position of Chair for a term. Currently I have the privilege of being a Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.

As far as the personal – I am the proud Dad of seven children. I am now retired and previously was self- employed for over 30 years owning multiple McDonald’s Restaurants initially in Michigan and finishing my career here in Oshkosh.

Our Mission is to Evangelize and bring us all in a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe my past business experience coupled with my deep love for our Lord and this Parish makes me well suited to effectively fulfill the duties as one of your Trustees.

How to Vote:

Ballots will be placed in the pews at Masses this weekend and can be filled out and dropped in the baskets.

If you are not able to attend Mass in person at this time, you may also come to the parish office to vote Mon-Wed from 8AM - 12PM. Final votes will be counted at the close of the office on Wednesday.
